Benefits to 3v3

    • All players are more involved: More touches, shots, handling the ball, passes, rebounds
    • Everyone is a guard: With more spacing, each player will get a lot of dribbling and decision-making reps
    • Defensive Improvement: All players must guard and focus on defense.
    • Moving without the ball: Players will be in constant motion–give and go’s, backdoor cuts, dribble hand offs, ball screens, dribble drive action
    • Faster Game: non stop action, quick scoring, lots of ball movement
    • Most Important: 3v3 is FUN

Please see the details below, spots are limited

Intro to 3v3

The entire first day will be an introduction on how to play 3v3

    • Move without the ball
    • Set/Receive/Guard Screens
    • Dribble Drive Moves
    • Pass and Cut
    • Defend
    • And More

Our goal is for the kids to learn the game, build confidence and fall in love with basketball. This will be a mistake friendly environment and our coaches will encourage kids to play on and learn from their mistakes.

Games will be played 3v3. This is a great way to get kids more opportunities to touch the ball, shoot and be part of every play.

Hoops are lowered to the appropriate height to maximize success and made baskets

Weekly, we will have a bracket style tournament that will produce points earned based on the outcomes of the games. Those points will accumulate during the session and end in a championship with awards

Your Questions Answered

Can I sign up on my own or do I need friends to make a team?

Anyone can sign up, and you will be place on a team. You can also sign up with friends and play together.

What if my child is more on the beginner level, how do ensure the games are competitive?

The first day we will do a full evaluation of each player and do our absolute best to make the teams balanced to ensure each game is competitive and balanced. Kids will get assigned to a team and play with that team for the full 10 weeks. If we find the teams to be unbalanced at any point, we may switch them up.

What if my child doesn’t know how to play 3v3 basketball?

During the evaluation, we also teach kids the format and how to play 3v3. Here is a quick video you can watch that explains how the rules work: Watch Video

What is the format each day?

Teams will arrive and the action will start right away. Each division will have 4 teams. Each team will play against one another in an 8-minute running clock game–so each team will play three (3), eight (8) minute games.

The first team to 15 points wins, or the team leading when time runs out–wins each game. We will take the results after all the games have been played and the 3rd/4th place teams will play a final game and the 1st/2nd place teams will play a final game. So in total, each team will play four (4) Total Games for a total of thirty-two (32) minutes.

How do the standings work?

Based on the final results each day, each time will be assigned points. The points will be accumulated over the course of the league, and we will end with a championship day, where each team has a chance to win the championship.

Weekly
First Place: 5 Points
Second Place: 3 Points
Third Place: 2 Points
Fourth Place: 1 Point

Why is it called Jamba League?

Jamba sponsors the league and provides the uniforms. To keep costs low, all kids will receive a jersey that must be retuned on the last day
